The County Treasureris responsible for mailing Property Tax Statements to the owner of record, collecting property taxes, and disbursing taxes to the taxing authorites (School districts, cities/towns, the county special districts, ect.). The treasurer holds an annual tax lien sale auction to collect outstanding delinquent tax monies. The treasurer's office serves as a general collection agency for all county departments.

Reconciliation of all county funds are completed monthly along with investing.

 

The Public Trustee's primary function is the execution of Releases of Deeds of Trust and processing foreclosures.

Foreclosure sales are held on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. at the West Door of the Courthouse. Foreclosure notices are published in the Kiowa County Independent and Kiowa County Press.  For free advice on foreclosures, call the Colorado Foreclosure Hotline at 1-877-601-4673.
